Discovery and Planning are consecutive processes that deliver a "blueprint" of how to build your website. Discovery kicks off the project, and involves us asking you a lot of questions. It is a thorough learning effort, and forms the basis of our understanding of the project's requirements. Importantly, it establishes a collaborative relationship between you and us.
Once Discovery is complete, Red Cent's preliminary understanding of the assignment is expressed in carefully detailed Discovery Notes.
The Planning phase is a dynamic project phase in which the Discovery notes are given life in the form of a clickable HTML wireframe. Reviews and subsequent iterations of the wireframe and its companion document — the Functional Specification — moves the project forward. Our creative partner will work with you to define the personality of the site, involving color palette and look-and-feel recommendations.
At the end of Planning, a defining set of comprehensive documentation is delivered, consisting of a final wireframe, Functional Specification, and high-level design.
The Implementation phase of the project cycle is the most exciting part of the development effort, in which all of our careful planning together begins to come to life. It is carefully managed so that all the parts — creative, engineering, and quality assurance — come together smoothly in order to achieve scheduled production milestones.
Prior to going "live," Red Cent puts the site through a rigorous QA process. Then, we "soft launch" the site to make certain that everything is perfect before launching the site to the general public. Once any necessary modifications are complete, we bring the site live to the public in a "hard launch."
While we welcome the opportunity to establish ongoing maintenance relationships with our clients, it is of the utmost importance that upon project completion, our clients can choose to maintain their site without needing to procure our ongoing maintenance services. We provide each of our clients with the source files and documentation necessary for them to maintain and administer their site on their own. Any manuals, software APIs, training materials and other documentation are generally provided to the client at this time.
